Planning on moving a new press into your operation
?
There
is much more to consider in a foundation design than merely digging a
hole in the floor and pouring some concrete.
Sure you've considered the press tonnage, stroke,
speed, bedsize, and diespace to decide this press is the right
fit for your production plans and budget. But have you considered
if the press will fit right ?
- is the doorway and aisles large enough to bring
the press inside
- is there enough room to assemble and erect the
press
- is the ceiling high enough, will the crane pass
overhead
- where will the control cabinets be placed
- electrical, compressed air, fluid containment,
lights, ventilation
- service access and egress from the foundation
basement
- is there room to set up and service the dies
- is there room to stage and load coil stock
- is there room to unload and pack finished parts
- is there room to collect and dispose of the scrap
- is there room to service or remove the clutch/brake
and flywheel
- is there room to service or remove the driveshafts
and gears
- is there room to service or remove the slide assembly/counterbalances
