Prior to dismantle all electrical, pneumatic, lube and hydraulic, and mechanical connections are match-marked and documented for reference later at re-assembly. Fluids are drained and contained in strict accordance to environmental policies. Fragile and critical devices and fixtures are removed and carefully packaged for shipment. Transfer automation, coil feed line, and moving bolster systems are removed from the press and packaged as well.

The press is dismantled into basic sub-assemblies; crown, slide, bed, and side frames. In many cases further disassembly is required to reduce size and weight for transportation. All components, sub-assemblies, and frame members are crated, skidded, and shrink wrapped to protect and minimize exposure during transport..
